Good Friday and Easter Sunday are fast approaching. Islamic apologists across the world will seize this opportunity to mock and ridicule the cross of Jesus- where power and wisdom of God is displayed. At this time, we want to gently and lovingly remind them about how the wrath of the only true living God came upon Ahmed Deedat, the man who spoke against the God of the Bible and  who can be rightly called as father of modern Islamic apologetics. We also want to remind them how God vindicated His servant Anis Shorrosh. We hope these incidents will lead our Muslim friends to repentance at the feet of Jesus. Sakshi Research Team.

Ahmed Deedat: An Example of the Wrath of God on those who oppose the Gospel  

 

Be Not Deceived; God is not Mocked; For whatsoever a man Soweth, that shall he  also reap Galatians 6: 7 (The Holy Bible)

 

Ahmed Deedat needs no introduction to those who follow the debates between Christians and Muslims. Therefore we are not going to spend time on that.

 

 In 25 November 1993, after Mr. Deedat wrote his “Combat Kit”, Pastor David Foster wrote a letter which was personally delivered to Ahmed Deedat.  

 

Pastor David Foster wrote:

 

 You have ridiculed the fact that the Bible contains instructions "to eat shit and drink piss" (see 3 g in Combat Kit). You should realise that it is beneath the dignity of true scholarly research to criticize any literature, much less to smear the Holy Bible, on the basis of mere appearances without giving due consideration to the context. In Combat Kit you have ignored the fact that the disputed biblical statement, which you claim to be "absurd", is not God's instruction but is spoken by a godless commander of the Assyrian army who was besieging the city of Jerusalem. As the siege progressed the Assyrians tried to demoralize the Israelites by taunting them, saying they would eventually become so starved that they would eat their own excrement and drink their own urine (see 2 Kings 18:27 & Isaiah 36:27).

However, like the Pharaoh of Egypt, Deedat hardened his heart and ignored the gentle reminders. He continued to hurl insults against the True Living God.

 

 As a result, under the authority that God Jesus has given to the Church “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” Matthew 16:19, many pastors from various denominations in Durban (where Deedat’s organization is headquarted), came together and published an advertisement on the Daily News, a major newspaper in Durban.

 

It read:

 

“For the reasons stated above, prayerfully and humbly, we now rebuke you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for your stubborn persistence in this matter. We are compelled to warn you that unless you repent of your mockery, you will draw upon yourself the judgment of God in due course.This rebuke is motivated, not out of any sense of animosity, but from our fear of God and our Christian love for you. We pray that you will turn to God in repentance and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray this prayer in the name of that same Jesus who died upon the cross for you and rose from the dead that you may enter eternal life with Him.Since your attacks against the Bible have been made public, it pains us that this rebuke also has to be made public.”

However, Deedat still continued his vicious speeches against the Holy God. After an “Easter speech” against the Jesus as recorded in the Holy Bible in 1996, the LORD GOD Almighty struck Deedat- he lost his ability to speak and had a stroke and  was bedridden ever after.

 

This is what the official website of Ahmed Deedat says:

 

 It was a sad day for us, particularly at the IPCI, when Sheikh Ahmed Deedat suffered a stroke, and lost his speech, his most potent gift that he used so effectively in his debates to propagate Islam.Sheikh Deedat fell ill in 1996, shortly after his trip to Australia, which was a momentous tour. He gave one of his most passionate talks in front of a capacity crowd in Sydney, on the theme Easter: A Muslim viewpoint.This was his last lecture before he suffered a stroke, and he has been bedridden since then.(Source: http://www.ipci.co.za/founder.asp)

 

Deedat continued to be bedridden. He had many chances to repent. Christian pastors visited him and urged to seek forgiveness for his blasphemies. But Deedat would not. Almost after 10 years on 8 August 2005, Deedat died without repenting.  

 

Here it must be pointed out that we are not making an issue out of human misery. But it is too striking to ignore the sequence of these events as coincidence. Therefore we are compelled to conclude that it is the judgment of the only True Living God that fell upon Deedat.   

 

 Anis Shorrosh: How God Jesus honors His servants who will stand for Him 

 

In the life of Ahmed Deedat, one of the historic debates was with the Arab Christian Anis Shorrosh on the topic ‘Quran or the Bible: Which is the Word of God’.  

 

Anis Shorrosh effectively and cogently refuted the claim that Quran is the word of God and proving that Bible is the word of God. 

 

However, at the beginning of the presentation and at the end of the presentation, Deedat challenged Anis Shorrosh to produce a Sura (chapter) like that of Quran which is the challenge of Quran itself.  

 

And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides God, if your (doubts) are true. (2:23) 

 

Then Deedat went on to challenge Anis Shorrosh that ‘you are an Arab. Arabic is your mother tongue. So produce a Sura like this’. Deedat went on to say that ‘you will never, never, never be able to produce a Sura like this.  Deedat repeated the challenge at the beginning and at the end of his presentation.  

 

The only true living God Jesus heard this insult and made Anis Shorrosh an instrument to bring forth not just one Sura but an entire book like that of Quran- The True Furqan. In fact, it is more readable and intelligible than the Islamic Quran.

 

India government banned this book saying that it will confuse Muslims between Quran and the True Furqan. ( So what happened to the challenge of Allah of the Quran?)   

 

True Furqan speaks about the Triune God, incarnation of Jesus, salvation through cross and refutes the Islamic apologetics in the same poetical language of Quran – in Arabic and in English. True Furqan was written by a Saudi Arabian Poet- a secret Christian. He handed over the book to Anis Shorrosh. Anis Shorrosh translated that to English and published the book.  Glory to God Jesus who judges those who oppose the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Crucified and vindicates His servants. 

 

 So, this Good Friday and Easter, we humbly request our Muslim friends to restrain from opposing the Gospel of Jesus and repent and accept Jesus as LORD and Savior.

 

The Lord responded;"Far be it from Me; For those who honor Me; I will honor,  and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed (1 Samuel 2;30).
