This brief article examines a few of the confusing concepts of sin and salvation in Quran. Sakshi Research Team compiles those verses.
An Imperfect Creation? Then why are we blamed?
Quran says that truly man was created very impatient (Surah 70: 19-24). Man is created weak (Surah 4: 28). Man is created to be in distress (Surah 90:4). Quran says many are the Jinns and men Allah have made for hell (Surah 7:179).
Satan Responsible? Then why are we blamed?
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 641: Narrated Said bin Al-Musaiyab: Abu Huraira said, "I heard Allah's Apostle saying, 'There is none born among the off-spring of Adam, but Satan touches it. A child therefore, cries loudly at the time of birth because of the touch of Satan, except Mary and her child." Then Abu Huraira recited: "And I seek refuge with You for her and for her offspring from the outcast Satan" (3.36). What does the touch of Satan means? Read Surah 7:17. It is nothing but sin.
Allah’s Misguidance? Then why are we blamed?
Quran says “those whom Allah wills to guide, He open their breast to Islam; Those whom He wills to leave straying – He makes their breast close and constricted, as if they had to climb up to the skies; thus does Allah lay abomination on those who refuse to believe (Surah 6:125).
Allah’s wants us to sin? Then why are we blamed?
The Islamic scholar Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips quotes an interesting commandment from Prophet Mohammed. It goes like this: The Prophet Muhammad informed his followers of this important fact of life in of his statements quoted by both Abu Ayyoub and Abu Hurayrah: “If you did not commit sins, Allah would sweep you out of existence and replace you by another people who would commit sins, ask Allah’s forgiveness and He would forgive them. (Collected by Sahih Muslim Volume 4, page 1436-7 Nos, 6620).
But then we should exceed in good works? Funny yaar…
Surah 7: 8-9 says: “The balance that day will be true (to a nicety) those, whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper; those whose scale will be light will find their souls in perdition for that they wrongfully treated our signs”.
Even if our good works exceed, Allah will sent us to hell? Too funny yaar…
Surah 19: 70-71: And certainly we know best those are most worthy of being burned therein. Not one of you but will pass over it; this is with thy Lord, a decree which must be accomplished.
Even if we reach heaven, Allah may not allow us to stay there forever? Ridiculously funny yaar…
Surah 11: 106-108: “Those who are wretched shall be in the Fire: There will be for them therein (nothing but) the heaving of sighs and sobs: They will dwell therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth endure, except as thy Lord willeth: for thy Lord is the (sure) accomplisher of what He planneth. And those who are blessed shall be in the Garden: They will dwell therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth endure, except as thy Lord willeth: a gift without break.” (Similar verses are there in Surah 6:128, 19:71, 72, 3:185).

1. An Imperfect Creation? Then why are we blamed?
May be Allah is imperfect or he must be impotent to create a perfect creation.
2. Satan Responsible? Then why are we blamed?
Funny yaar, why does Satan touch and make the imperfect more imperfect. May be Satan masters what Allah could not. Hahahaha…… Allah created imperfect but Satan improves on it by making it more imperfect, Great. Hahahaha….. May be Satan knows the standards then Allah.
3. Allah’s Misguidance? Then why are we blamed?
Funny, here Allah adds to Satan’s work. As a master misguide.
4. Allah’s wants us to sin? Then why are we blamed?
What else we can do but sin since he made us imperfect. Yet we are not sinners but masoom (innocent)…. Very funny yaar…. The standards are reversed, seems like calling sinning and touch of Satan and misguiding of Allah… as being born masoom (innocent).
5. But then we should exceed in good works? Funny yaar…
This seems to be worse then Chinese market of faulty goods and the dumping ground of faulty goods. By this logic, we must create faulty machines and products like Allah and expect it to work well, and we must advertise saying faulty but will give results. That’s what many developed countries do while dumping crap in our country. They would have learnt it from Allah to creat faulty goods and from Satan to improve the work of faulty goods by dumping and selling faulty products.
6. Even if our good works exceed, Allah will send us to hell? Too funny yaar…
This is like a competition among the dumpers who can create the worst product and sell it as best. If someone creates a good product and sells it he must be out of the market. What an idea. This is know as Mafia.
7. Even if we reach heaven, Allah may not allow us to stay there forever? Ridiculously funny yaar…
Why should he allow us to stay? After all the competition is for the worst place, Allah created imperfect, Satan as his true servant improves on it. If we undo Allah’s work why should he allow us to stay in Heaven forever? The place is meant for the worst. What a heaven? Yet we call it a perfect place. What a reversal of standards. This is salvation for us, if someone doubts it he will be in hell….. Super funny yaar.
i often see now a days ,islam the true way to salvation, but after reading islamic scripture ,i think statemnts like this must be corrected .this is a gud tool to explain gospel to muslim coz they work had to get into pardise and enjoy all bliss there but they need to know there religion doesnt offer salvation and all the game is about 50/50 :grin
Here is an example of a very misunderstood verse in the Quran…
Surah 14:4
And We never sent a messenger save with the language of his folk, that he might make (the message) clear for them. Then Allah sendeth whom He will astray, and guideth whom He will. He is the Mighty, the Wise.
People will tend to argue that Allah misguides people and therefore when the people are misguided then they don’t have free will and that it is actually Allah’s fault for them being misguided and that Allah would be unjust for punishing them.
However, lets read the Quran in context so that we can better understand what this verse is saying. I won’t be using any commentaries because once someone reads the Quran in context he could easily understand what the verse is saying.
Surah 18:29
Say: (It is) the truth from the Lord of you (all). Then whosoever will, let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve. Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers Fire. Its tent encloseth them. If they ask for showers, they will be showered with water like to molten lead which burneth the faces. Calamitous the drink and ill the resting-place!
Here we clearly see that people have a FREE WILL to believe or disbelieve in God.
Surah 73:19
Lo! This is a Reminder. Let him who will, then, choose a way unto his Lord.
Surah 25:57
Say: I ask of you no reward for this, save that whoso will may choose a way unto his Lord.
Surah 80:11-12
Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, So let whosoever will pay heed to it,
These verses clearly show that human beings have the FREE WILL to choose a path unto the Lord.
Surah 29:69
As for those who strive in Us, We surely guide them to Our paths, and lo! Allah is with the good.
God is clearly telling us that we need to struggle hard in order to find the path to God. Allah will only guide those who actually struggle to be guided. If God has already predetermined who would go to hell and heaven without giving us free will then it would be useless for Allah to tell us to strive to be good. So God guides those who strive and put an effort to want to be guided.
Surah 39:7
If ye are thankless, yet Allah is Independent of you, though He is not pleased with thanklessness for His bondmen; and if ye are thankful He is pleased therewith for you. No laden soul will bear another’s load. Then unto your Lord is your return; and He will tell you what ye used to do. Lo! He knoweth what is in the breasts (of men).
Allah is saying that he is not pleased with those who are thankless to Him. It would not make sense for God to misguide those people intentionally without giving them free will so that they can go and do what He does not like.
Surah 45:22
And Allah hath created the heavens and the earth with truth, and that every soul may be repaid what it hath earned. And they will not be wronged.
God will judge those people according to the deeds that they have done and according to what they earned. They will not be judged unfairly.
So God judging them by what they earned shows that human beings have free will to do evil if they are judged to be evil and therefore it is no one’s fault but theirs.
Surah 45:15
Whoso doeth right, it is for his soul, and whoso doeth wrong, it is against it. And afterward unto your Lord ye will be brought back.
Surah 27:90
And whoso bringeth an ill-deed, such will be flung down on their faces in the Fire. Are ye rewarded aught save what ye did ?
Surah 37:38-39
Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom – Ye are requited naught save what ye did –
Surah 52:13-19
The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. Is this magic, or do ye not see ? Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do. Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do,
Surah 7:147-148
Those who deny Our revelations and the meeting of the Hereafter, their works are fruitless. Are they requited aught save what they used to do ? And the folk of Moses, after (he left them), chose a calf (for worship), (made) out of their ornaments, of saffron hue, which gave a lowing sound. Saw they not that it spake not unto them nor guided them to any way ? They chose it, and became wrong-doers.
Again, clearly we see that sinners are punished for what they did. It is their fault and no one else’s.
Surah 10:45
And on the day when He shall gather them together, (when it will seem) as though they had tarried but an hour of the day, recognising one another, those will verily have perished who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided.
Surah 16:33-34
Await they aught say that the angels should come unto them or thy Lord’s command should come to pass ? Even so did those before them. Allah wronged them not, but they did wrong themselves, So that the evils of what they did smote them, and that which they used to mock surrounded them.
Surah 41:46
Whoso doeth right it is for his soul, and whoso doeth wrong it is against it. And thy Lord is not at all a tyrant to His slaves.
Again we see that Allah is not to be held responsible but the sinners are for their own sinful actions that they willingly chose to commit.
So Who Are The People That Are Misguided?
Surah 2:26
Lo! Allah disdaineth not to coin the similitude even of a gnat. Those who believe know that it is the truth from their Lord; but those who disbelieve say: What doth Allah wish (to teach) by such a similitude ? He misleadeth many thereby, and He guideth many thereby; and He misleadeth thereby only miscreants;
Surah 22:4
Against him it is written down that whoever takes him (the devil) for a friend, he shall lead him astray and conduct him to the chastisement of the burning fire.
Surah 7:30
A party hath He led aright, while error hath just hold over (another) party, for lo! they choose the devils for protecting supporters instead of Allah and deem that they are rightly guided.
Surah 33:36
And it becometh not a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His messenger have decided an affair (for them), that they should (after that) claim any say in their affair; and whoso is rebellious to Allah and His messenger, he verily goeth astray in error manifest.
Surah 14:27
Allah confirmeth those who believe by a firm saying in the life of the world and in the Hereafter, and Allah sendeth wrong-doers astray. And Allah doeth what He will.
Surah 25:44
Or deemest thou that most of them hear or understand ? They are but as the cattle – nay, but they are farther astray ?
Surah 33:67
And they say: Our Lord! Lo! we obeyed our princes and great men, and they misled us from the Way.
Surah 17:72
Whoso is blind here will be blind in the Hereafter, and yet further from the road.
Surah 6:116
If thou obeyedst most of those on earth they would mislead thee far from Allah’s way. They follow naught but an opinion, and they do but guess.
Surah 6:56
Say: I am forbidden to worship those on whom ye call instead of Allah. Say: I will not follow your desires, for then should I go astray and I should not be of the rightly guided.
So we see that Allah misguides those wrongdoers who are truly misguided by their own actions that they willingly chose to commit. Allah is omniscient and therefore knows in advance what their FREE WILLING actions will be. Therefore, Allah misguides them. HOWEVER, Allah only misguides those who WILLINGLY commit wrong and have earned to be labeled as disbelievers and go to Hell.
Let me give an example from the Bible…
Isaiah 19:14
The LORD has poured into them a spirit of dizziness; they make Egypt stagger in all that she does, as a drunkard staggers around in his vomit.
So here we see that God poured a spirit into man that caused them to do bad things. Now obviously Christians are going to reply back saying that the Egyptians had free will and that God did not force the spirit to force them to do bad. So if Christians are going to interpret it that way then why do they come and start attacking these Quranic verses?

To Younous:
You given all other verses but you failed to explain the verses that have been mentioned by the author of this article, what are the context of those verses, and where are the sync between those verses and verses you quoted? Or why they are contradicting against verses you quoted? What’s the context of those verses that they are contradicting verses you gave? If men really have free-will and God knows what will they chose, then God will misguiding them for chosinv other than himself, then it only means one thing men indeed have no free-will as god knew what they will chose and he will lead them astray for not chosing him, thus there will be no salvation concept at all in your allah mind. And the other thing is he is unwise and have no mercy, not a benevolent god at all for he lets men strive hard, to put hard effort to come to him. Means the salvation only belong to them who strive hard (personal effort) to seek your allah. It is not salvation at all if the right men who work hard themselves to be in the right place on your allah’s sight. What is salvation if your allah let men do that for themselves, striving themselves. It clearly show that your allah is a very selfish god, he wants men to chose him yet they must be working their own way to get there, and then your allah will be merciful to them. This is not confusing but disturbing concept of salvation.
In Christianity it is all the contrary, salvation is God’s initiative. He reaches out to save them who transgress against Him. You can read the whole Bible you will understand that it is all about God’s salvation. We sinned and He reaches out to us, to deliver us, to free us, when we are misguided and lost, He will find us and guide us back home. But there are many who chose to refuse and reject him completely then that is where they are lost forever. When they close their heart completely to God’s reaching out to them. You see God will not misguided people who already misguided themselves, He reach out to them, yet they refuse Him. That is different from your allah indeed. He will.missguide them who are already misguided themselves, making them lost forever. Your allah judge them without mercy to misguide them not even bother to bring them back. Your allah demanda men to make the effort themselves without he himself do anything but to judge and to curse them for their wrong choice in using their free-will.
And you been talking about context, yet you took out Bible verse out of context.
Isaiah 19 is about Prophecy about Egypt. And you can not take ome verse out to your own use. If you read it all the chapter 19 of Isaiah, it is actually about how God will judge Egypt and How we will be her Salvation. Read the whole chapter. In verse to understand verse 14 you will need to read verses before it, and verses after it..to get the whole picture as we say it nowadays. It is about how God will judge Egypt for its transgressions and idolatrous sins. Verse 14 is one of the judgement Egypt will have, it is not literally mean that God giving them a spirit of dizziness, it is about God bring the confusion and distortion of their own wisdom and science to which they seek counsel from and boasted about it. So God gives them up to their perversion and they themselves having quarrel each other about who is right, which eventually causing chaos in both religious and civil lives. It is like God giving them the taste of their own medicine, but God not punish Egypt the way allah might (allah always destroy whomever against him without mercy), read the verses after verse 14, you see that it is how God lead them to their Salvation, and that God show His Power as well as His Mercy. He will save them and read this beautiful last verse, Isaiah 19:22-24: 22 The Lord will strike Egypt with a plague; he will strike them and heal them. They will turn to the Lord, and he will respond to their pleas and heal them.
23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. 24 In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing[b] on the earth. 25 The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”
You see there, God judge Egypt, Punish her, then He heal her and lift her up and bless her…called her His people!
You can not expect your allah will do such thing to people he considers sinners all must be murderes to satisfy his ‘ego’ as the one and only god.
